A Frost Moon Story

Weird but amazing vibeyzz

Last evening, we decided to go on a spontaneous camping trip. Driving north, passing Kualoa, we saw the most beautiful moon rise over the ocean

The Frost Moon, otherwise known as the Beaver Moon, identifies with the cold temperatures of November. Native Americans called this the Beaver Moon because they associated it with when beavers would complete build of their lodges, made with branches and mud, in preparation for winter.

The moon rise was beautiful with a warm glow. We then passed a drive in movie, being hosted by the Mormon community at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie. We ended up eating at a fabulous Thai truck in Kahuku & it really felt like we were somewhere else lol

We started driving back south, since we were planning to camp at Malaekahana. However, it was a state park and the gates were locked as the park was closed. We continued on the road and stopped at Kokololio Beach Park. The gates were open and we didn’t bother looking at the signage. I just saw the blue color and assumed it would be open til 10. We decided to take a short walk around, and got back to discover that we were locked in!

Some locals told us that the police may or may not have the key to let us out. They didn’t. We tried to Uber, there’s no cars available. The bus would take 3 hours lolllllll guess we are like actually camping then

I have had this open air tent from Costco for quite some time. I really wanted it but never opened it until today (although I keep it in my car, just in case). Patrick set it up (ty young pat) and thank God for that because I was adamant about sleeping on the beach & I just woke to find that he was (once again) right that the water would have woken us with a splash.

This beach at Kokolioko is so beautiful, and I took a walk on the hard sand in the moonlight before falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves. God is so good and I can feel His presence with this full moon. I love leaning into His perfect plan for our days. He knows exactly what we need.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Isaiah 55:8-9

May you all have a blessed December ❤️💚
