In 2020, Founder & CEO Elise Hatsuko launched Miya from her law school condo in Waimanalo, Hawaii. She has loved expressing herself with tech media since she was in elementary school and blogged on MySpace, Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Wanting to create something that would stand the test of time, Elise decided to relaunch her blog upon graduation – recognizing that the change she hopes to actualize requires an uncommon life path. Looking to scale, our concept has developed into a new platform that will provide guests with a positive space for growth, connection, and support.
In 2021, Chief Marketing Officer Raquelle Pendleton, Esquire joined Miya. A licensed attorney, she has also been producing content for local businesses in Hawaii and California. Raquelle will be developing business partnerships, managing social media strategy, and planning promotional events.
